What is Yellow Belt and how it is different from Green and Black Belts?
Yellow Belt – Provides an overview about quality and basic understanding about Six Sigma methodology.
Green Belt – Provides in depth knowledge of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology including tools, techniques, templates and checklists that will help the participant to start taking up improvement projects.
Black Belt – This is an advanced training with an objective to prepare the Green Belts to the next level. It provides a thorough understanding of all aspects of the DMAIC model in accordance with Six Sigma principles. It also provides the basic knowledge of Lean concepts help them to identify non-value-added elements and activities to improve the process efficiency by bringing down the cost.
How Yellow Belt course can benefit me?
Yellow Belt Certification course gives sufficient knowledge of Lean Six Sigma that the participant can start contributing to a Process Improvement project.
Yellow Belt qualification is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner Green Belt 1 qualitification.
Is the Yellow Belt certification is recognized by any institution?
With our training you can comfortably take APMG’s Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification exam offered by APMG International UK.
How can I take the APMG Yellow Belt certification process?
APMG Yellow Belt Certification is a paper based evaluation that the participants need to give the exam through an ATO (APMG Accredited Training Organization).
Following three options are available to the participants to appear for the APMG Yellow Belt Certification exam.
a. ProjectingIT can coordinate and facilitate the exam
b. Participants can directly coordinate with APMG to schedule their exam
c. Participants can coordinate through British Council to schedule their exam
Will I be able to initiate and execute a Process Improvement Project with Yellow Belt knowledge?
No. Yellow Belt gives only the basic understanding of Six Sigma and DMAIC methodology. You can contribute to a process improvement project using Six Sigma methodology. You need to be a Green Belt trained or certified to initiate and execute a Six Sigma project.
Do I need to do any further reading to prepare myself for the APMG Yellow Belt Exam?
It is highly recommended that besides the courseware, you can refer the following books to gain additional knowledge that will help you to score better in the certification exam
a. “Lean Six Sigma for Dummies”, 2nd Edition, John Morgan and Martin Brenig-Jones, Wiley
b. “Lean Six Sigma Pocket Toolbook”. M.George, McGraw Hill
c. “The Six Sigma Way Team Fieldbook”, Pande et al, McGraw Hill
