What is Agile and how is it different form Prince2?
PRINCE2 is focussed on the management of project and has emphasis on the governance, management products, and processes for doing the project management work and how work should be delegated, monitored, reported and escalated. PRINCE2 does NOT cover the product development aspect. It provides guidance on how the interface between the Project Manager and the Team manager should work. But does not elaborate how the Team Manager does requirement analysis, product development and testing. Since this is a specialist work, PRINCE2 has left it out from the scope. Agile Project Management handbook on the other hand talks about how to develop a product from a scratch, the roles required in product development, the deliverables of the development team, key practices to enable the team to deliver the product fast and respond to changing priorities of the business. You can think of like the Managing Product Delivery is where PRINCE2 fits in.
Are there any prerequisites before taking the course?
No pre-requisites as such for Foundation. The practitioner exam however requires the candidate to have passed the APMG Foundation certification exam. The APMG certification courses are for competency and skill development and therefore are open to anyone who wishes to learn the concepts without any prior understanding and experience.
